Complete your Speaker Agreement Form and Registration

  1. First complete the electronic University of Manitoba Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form.
  2. Fill out your CFPC disclosure slide.
  3. Review the Speaker Release for Video and Audio Recording.
  4. Fill out the agreement form (upload your CFPC disclosure slide and agree to the Speaker Release for Video and Audio Recording).

If Pre-recording

Deadline: Thursday, February 17, 2022.

If Presenting Live

Deadline: Tuesday, February 22, 2022. 


Make sure that your CFPC disclosure slide is included in your presentation. The PDF copy will be made available to registered delegates, post symposium. 

If your files are too large to be sent via email, we recommend you upload them to an external source for sharing i.e., Dropbox.

When emailing your files, please ensure that your file title contains your full name (ex. Talk Title-John-Doe).

ACCREDITATION 

In order to comply with important accreditation standards all presenters must complete or note the following:

  1. The provided disclosure slides must be used when preparing your presentation and declarations must be verbalized at the start of your presentation.
  2. A minimum of 25% of your presentation must be interactive and allow for Q&A.
  3. Generic, rather than trade names, must be used in presentations.
  4. Branding or sponsor logos are not allowed in presentation slides.
  5. It is important to write references on slides and incorporate evidence if possible. 
  6. Include discussion of commonly encountered barriers to practice change.

This activity must comply with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Please find below a list of the Quality Criteria to be considered in the preparation of your presentation material/activity content:

Criterion 3: Incorporation of Evidence

  • An outline of the evidence and how it was used to create the content must be provided and references must be included within materials
  • Evidence should come from systematic reviews/meta-analyses of studies (RCTs, cohort case control studies), or single, moderate-sized, well-designed RCTs or well-designed, consistent, controlled but not randomized trials or large cohort studies
  • Lack of evidence for assertions or recommendations must be acknowledged
  • If a single study is the focus or select studies are omitted program developers must provide rationale to support this decision
  • Graphs and charts cannot be altered to highlight one treatment or product
  • Both potential harms and benefits should be discussed and an efficient way to present this to clinicians is number needed to treat (NNT) and number needed to harm (NNH), as well as absolute and relative risk reductions.
